Choosing an Inogen Portable Oxygen Concentrator: Rove 4, Rove 6 or G5?
Updated October 2026.
Inogen’s pulse-dose portables are some of the most popular oxygen concentrators for active people. They’re all FAA approved and built to be carried — but they’re not the same. Here’s how today’s models compare.
Inogen Rove 4: lightest option
At 2.9 lb with its intermediate battery, the Rove 4 is one of the lightest concentrators available. It offers four pulse settings, making it a great fit for people with lower oxygen needs who want something that disappears on their shoulder.
Inogen Rove 6: longest standard battery
The Rove 6 weighs about 5 lb and offers six pulse settings with up to 6 hours on its standard battery. It’s a strong all-day choice for people who need higher pulse settings.
Inogen One G5: proven all-rounder
The One G5 also offers six pulse settings at about 5 lb, with up to 5 hours on its standard battery. It’s a long-time favorite for everyday use and travel.
What about the Inogen G3?
The Inogen One G3 was a popular earlier model. If you’re using one today, it still works much like the newer units; when it’s time to upgrade, the Rove 6 or G5 are natural next steps.
